The Icarus Job

We rated this book:

Crockett work is tiresome with measly pay, but seeking out new inhabitable worlds is relatively safe. Recently, Gregory Roarke and his partner, Selene, have been working for the Icarus Group looking for new portals. The work is steady, but the danger is greater. However, when a high-risk job with an irresistible payout comes their way, Roarke and Selene find themselves working for a notorious crime boss. The mission is perilous, but the reward is a portal that the Icarus Group is desperate to obtain. But will transporting a known assassin prove to be a bit more than Roarke can handle?

The Icarus Job by award-winning author Timothy Zahn is the third book in his Icarus Saga. Zahn’s adrenaline-fueled thriller is part of a series, and as exciting as this novel is, the story makes more sense when the books are read in order. Zahn’s noir-styled space opera is filled with hardened characters, dirty street brawls, and narrow escapes. The action comes hard and fast as Zahn leads the reader through a gritty sci-fi crime epic. And as Roarke’s father used to say, “Read The Icarus Job, or don’t read anything at all.”
