Pocketful of Poseys
This is an interesting and unusual story of an aging parent and her final wishes for her children. After receiving a dismal diagnosis, the mother decides to end her life on her own terms. This does not really surprise her children, who have become accustomed to their unusual mother. It turns out that she was a free spirit who may have shocking secrets.
Her last wishes take her children and their families on a globe-trotting mission to scatter her ashes in her life’s memorable locales. The brother and sister, and their families, try to hang together on this unusual mission and forego their spats and dissimilarities. Sibling rivalry is almost universal, so can these unalike children put aside their long-standing feud with each other in the service of the mother they both treasure?
The brother has morphed from a gay partnership into a family man with an understanding woman and her teenage opinionated daughter. The over-achieving sister has an affluent lifestyle and a daughter who is in partnership with a much older man. The story heats up and engages the reader, who wonders what will be revealed in their quest.
