How Many Animals Can Fit in this Book is a colorful story that children of all ages will adore. The story is simple, yet endearing. An ant says that only one animal can fit in the book, but then other animals start showing up, and the book becomes very crowded. From lions and crocodiles to penguins and ladybugs, everyone wants to join in on the fun. The ant gets a bit cranky and decides to leave (with his apple).

The book is a great beginner counting book. It’s also easy on the eyes. The illustrations reminded me a lot of Eric Carle’s The Hungry Caterpillar with its brilliant colors and simple shape-based technique. This is a great book for older kids to read to their younger siblings. The animals have cute expressions and are quite funny as they all try to cram themselves into the book.
