A Lethal Walk in Lakeland (A Walk Through England Mystery)
Chase is eagerly anticipating a return to England – both for the lovely scenery and to see the handsome Mike in person after a year. He’s quickly met with two disappointments: Mike can’t join them right away and he’s stuck traveling with a rowdy family rife with drama and old agendas. Thankfully he has his good friend to keep him sane as the entertaining family squabbles quickly turn deadly when one of them is found dead and Chase suspects the killer is one of the others.
The story focuses primarily on the characters versus solving a murder and has a structure that feels like a classic mystery. Time is spent getting to know the family as individuals along with their dynamics with each other so that by the end the whodunit solve feels earned. The relationship between Chase and Mike provides heart and romance as their charming dynamic never fails to make you smile whenever they interact. Helping Chase throughout is his friend Billie who is a witty retiree who loves knitting and is a breath of fresh air, making her the perfect sleuthing buddy.
Charming and picturesque, A Lethal Walk in Lakeland provides drama, intrigue, and murder set against the stunning Lake District.
