The Village Library Demon-Hunting Society
Another murder must be solved in Sherry Pinkwhistle’s quaint little village! But didn’t Sherry just solve a murder? When Sherry’s sorta boyfriend dies and her cat turns out to be possessed by a demon, she’s forced to admit what’s going on might be supernatural.
If you’re a fan of murder mysteries, then at some point you’ve probably wondered why no one has noticed how much death surrounds the lead amateur detective. This story is what happens when that detective realizes she’s the protagonist. Waggoner has created a story that’s full of mystery tropes that are over used, but that’s the point. It feels like a story to Sherry and that idea comes off the page like it’s supposed to.
Overall, it’s a great, fun read. The mystery part of it was a little disappointing; some of the clues where there, but not all of them were shared when Sherry found them, making it hard to solve myself. The characters were fun, though a little flat, and a few served no purpose to the plot. Every suspect had motive and could have been the one who did it, a couple were even conveniently in town when they had no other reason.
