The Wedding People: A Novel
This is a delightful novel about a woman at the end of her rope and the end of her marriage. What better way to recover than to check into the very poshest and most exclusive resort hotel. Yet, that is not the intention of our heroine, Phoebe.
Phoebe is a professor whose husband and husband’s love interest are also on the faculty at the same university. When Phoebe’s beloved cat dies, she takes off, leaving the detritus of her life behind her.
The hotel, however, is filled with a wedding party headed by a bridezilla. Lila, the bride has spared no expense to have the most perfect wedding ever; she does not intend to put up with an interloper with sad vibes.
What sets this novel apart from a conventional romance novel is the great dialogue and wonderful characters and situations. Lila gets what she wants and Phoebe has never asked for anything. The two have a lot to learn from each other.
