The Seven Rings: The Lost Bride Trilogy, Book 3
The Seven Rings, the conclusion in Nora Roberts’s The Lost Bride Trilogy, wraps up the extensive quest by Sonya, boyfriend Trey, best friend Cleo, and her boyfriend/Sonya’s cousin, Owen to locate the mysterious rings held hostage by the ancient and murderous witch Hester Dobbs, taken from the seven brides of the Lost Bride Manor in retaliation as the self-appointed mistress of the manor. Immediately following the closing events of The Mirror, the four continue to gather information through loved ones past and present while battling an epic temper with murderous intent before it becomes too late.
I struggled through this story. I couldn’t fully relate to the characters. The language slowed me down; too much cursing. While I understand this having a time and place, it cheapened my view of the characters’; also with language, I felt lost when trying to figure out who was talking among the four within each conversation. There was too much “downtime” between big events that could have shortened the book. There could be potential for a successful mini-series or TV show, as there are many characters that could share episodes and delve further into the presented content. I appreciated how everything wrapped up in the end with no loose ends.
