The Senator’s Wife: A Novel
The Senator’s Wife is another outstanding psychological thriller from Liv Constantine. Sloane is smart, beautiful, and married to the love of her life, Robert, a United States Senator. Robert’s cousin, Pam, is married to another Senator, Whit. After tragedy strikes and Robert and Pam are killed, Sloane and Whit develop a romantic relationship while trying to help one another heal from the deaths of their loved ones. But Sloane’s lupus flares up, and she ends up needing hip surgery. Whit hires a live-in helper named Athena. During her recovery, she seems to be getting sicker and sicker instead of healing.
The reader follows each character as Sloane gets sicker. Sloane’s ex-mother-in-law thinks Whit is up to something and starts her own investigation, ending in people getting hurt and even murdered. But is Athena really who she says she is? There are chapters that reference her creating her character because she is not really experienced in caregiving. This book is fascinating from cover to cover. The twist at the end made me gasp and read even faster as the truth is uncovered. This book is perfect for fans of B.A. Paris and Sandie Jones.
