The Curious Inheritance of Blakely House is part Gothic steampunk and another part Inheritance Games. Clockmaker and near genius Sydney Forrester receives a visit from a mysterious woman who informs her that an unknown relative has passed, and his estate is up for grabs. Stepping inside the castle of his estate, she never felt more understood, but unfortunately, it was from a man who can’t protect her next to kin who don’t take kindly to her arrival and possible taking of the goods at stake.

Joanna Davidson Politano’s novel is a seamless blend of mystery and thriller, effortlessly incorporating a Christian aspect into the story that is flawless in the storyline and characters. From a Christian perspective, there is never a wrong time to include the reason and creator of everything into a story, but there are times in other novels when it seems out of place with the writing; yet this isn’t the case in this instance. Readers who enjoy steampunk, ingenuity, adventure, thrill, and revelation will find everything they want in the pages of this novel.
