Only for the Holidays
Quincy and Tia are not looking forward to the holidays. Quincy is still reeling from the betrayal of his girlfriend and best friend, while Tia is struggling to figure out what Mike means when he says he wants to take a break. When Tia’s mom announces that the family is going on holiday to Quincy’s countryside estate hours away, she tries every excuse in the book to stay behind, but her mom is having none of that. Then she meets Quincy, and they broker a pact. Tia will pretend to be his girlfriend and date for the Winter Ball, and Quincy will help Tia get back to London for the party. But as they come to know each other, sparks fly. Hmm, but isn’t it strange what a little time apart can do?
City girl versus country boy makes for some hilarious country fiascoes, which of course, lead to cute romantic moments and grand gestures. As Tia learns more about herself, her self-discovery becomes the center of the story, with strong, positive vibes. This is one to add to the short list of YA holiday romances, especially featuring black characters, so grab a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy.
