My Special One, Vol. 2
Sahoko meets and falls for the kind-hearted J-pop idol, Kouta. But a rumor spreads, and a scandal arises about Kouta’s past. Kouta needs Sahoko’s help while they wait for the public’s interest in the rumor and scandal to die down. Are the rumors true? Does Sahoko even know the real Kouta?
I really don’t like Sahoko’s character at all. Her neediness toward Kouta is very annoying. Every time she keeps throwing herself at him to help him in whatever way she can, it makes me cringe and roll my eyes. I normally do not like meek and needy and boy-crazy female protagonists in Shojo mangas, and Sahoko totally fits the bill. I really wished her character was more interesting. I don’t really like Sahoko and Kouta’s storyline either because it’s so basic and flat. Nothing about their relationship made me think it was cute. I didn’t read the first volume of the series, but I understood their relationship dynamic from the start. Unfortunately, this series was not for me.
