Long Way Down: A Thriller
Deni Rydell is about to marry Cal Cooper Jr., who is immensely wealthy. Unsurprisingly, Cal’s parents are not happy about their upcoming marriage. Cal’s brother, Grant, has also just come home from a stint in rehab, bringing along his girlfriend, who isn’t who she claims to be. Not long after, Cal and his parents are killed in a plane crash, turning Deni’s world upside down. While the Coopers live up in Gold Hills, it’s a Long Way Down to the other side of the tracks, where Deni comes from, and she really doesn’t want to go back. How far was she willing to go to live there?
Even though I was able to figure it out, it would have been nice for the chapters to be labelled when the point of view changes between the characters that are written in first person. The book as a whole was ok, not amazing, but certainly not the worst thing I’ve ever read. If you enjoy the inevitable family drama that comes from rich families, this book is for you.
