Kill or Bee Killed (A Bee Keeping Mystery)
Bailey is excited for the upcoming Bee Festival, which her Granny Bee takes very seriously and is committed to being the best support. Her best friend, Evie, is one of the contestants in a bake-off but nothing goes as predicted when the celebrity host turns out to be a creep. When he is found dead, suspicion falls on Evie and Bailey refuses to allow her friend to go down for something she didn’t do. Her investigation sends her looking at the other contestants and ruffles a few feathers with Sawyer which could make things more complicated.
The mystery is instantly charming and humorous, which is a tone that kicks off from the first page and doesn’t stop until the end. The beginning sets the bar high with the humorous antics of Bailey and Evie, which continue throughout the story. The friendship between the two is at the core of the mystery and is always delightful, with each plan they devise more and more entertaining. Other characters include Granny Bee and her sisters, Spike, and Sawyer, who populate Bailey’s world in a way that makes the story richer and more fulfilling.
Highly recommended, Kill or Bee Killed is charming, funny, and doesn’t know what a dull moment is which makes it perfect for any reading list.
