House Love: A Joyful Guide to Cleaning, Organizing, and Loving the Home You’re In
House Love is a wonderful book that isn’t just about cleaning and decorating but also about loving the home you are living in now. It’s about helping you make it a place where you want to spend time with family and friends or alone in an armchair reading a book or watching television. It’s full of tips and advice about creating spaces that are uniquely you.
The best advice I took away from this book was number one: forget about those fancy magazine photos with rooms to die for because it probably took hours to create the look, and it’s a sterile place where no one lives. And if nothing else, a home should feel lived in. The second thing I took from this book is that a fifty/fifty solution of vinegar and water will clean just about anything. So, I no longer need to spend all that money buying all those different cleaning solutions, which is better for my wallet and the environment.
And yes, if you are wondering, this book inspired me to not only clean but also think about the things I keep in my house and how I can make all my spaces more livable and enjoyable.
