Holmes Is MissingHolmes Is Missing: A Holmes, Margaret & Poe Mystery
Holmes is Missing is the next book in the Holmes, Margaret, and Poe series by James Patterson and Brian Sitts. In this story, the three detectives are hired by a group of parents who have had their newborn babies kidnapped from a hospital. Margaret and Poe must pick up Holmes from his rehabilitation center first. Then they get to work.
What I love is the storyline of this book. The detectives are able to figure out that the bracelets that monitor the babies are defunct. Then they look at who was and wasn’t on staff when the babies were kidnapped. The clues unravel neatly, almost too neatly.
The part that I didn’t particularly like was Holmes backstory. He’s a very high maintenance character and I feel that he brings the other two characters down with his dramatics.
Overall, the story reads quickly and easily. In true Patterson tradition, the chapters are very short which also makes the book more digestible. I would recommend this to those who are already Patterson fans. It’s not his best work, but it’s entertaining enough.
