Every Version of You

Joey is a high-powered attorney who appears to have her life together, yet she is hopeless. She is in love with her best friend Ellie, who is married and about to have a baby. Outside of her pet cat, Joey finds few pleasures in life. Miraculously, she is given the opportunity to revisit her past and chooses to return to college, and make Ellie fall in love with her. Yet, once in the past, she comes to realize that Ellie may not be her soulmate after all.

What a debut! I was hooked on Joey’s story and hoped that she would find the happy ending she was searching for. Her arch-nemesis Alex appears in her past, but she finds him much different than the wealthy, selfish snob she knows in the present. He is charming, kind, and obsessed with Joey! This shift makes her question her devotion to perfect Ellie and what she wants from life. I was pleased when Joey allowed her emotions to lead and chose to live life according to her own rules. The magical elements added fun and intrigue to the novel, while the romance kept me drawn in. I devoured this one!
