Bride
Bride begins with vampyre Misery becoming betrothed to were leader Lowe. Strangers to each other, the union has been organized by the heads of the werewolf and vampire clans to ease tension between the two species. Misery has not sided with her peers for many years, and has been living in the human world while hiding her vampiric features. However, once her best friend Serena goes missing, she sees the opportunity to infiltrate the were world to try to find her human friend. Living with Lowe and the weres opens Misery’s eyes to love, friendships, and belonging, all of which were unfamiliar to her growing up without a mother and an evil father who disowned her.
This is the werewolf-vampire romance I didn’t know I needed! I’ve read many books by Ali Hazelwood and adore her strong female characters. Misery is no exception; she is a brainy computer programmer who speaks her mind. Her pairing with Lowe is irresistible, even though they have every reason to be incompatible. The plot involving the tension among humans, weres and vampyres got a bit tedious; otherwise, I loved this book! It was extra steamy and fun to read!
