A Bean to Die For (A Coffee Lover’s Mystery)
A Bean to Die For is a fun, cozy mystery by Tara Lush set on the island of Devil’s Beach, Florida. Lana and her father, Peter, own a café called Perkatory on the island. Lana, known for getting involved in murder and missing persons shenanigans on the island finds a dead body in the community garden. On top of this, Lana is dating the police chief, Noah, and he is constantly telling her to stop investigating crimes—to leave it up to the police. But Lana and her best friend Erica are really good coffee makers but even better sleuths. As they investigate the people on the island, their quirky personalities come out and all kinds of odd characters show up.
This book was an easy read that will go well with, you guessed it, a cup of coffee. The cast of characters is silly and readers will get that small-town islandy vibe as they read A Bean to Die For. The only part of the book that was odd to me was the characters would say “What the fluff?” a lot. It kind of made me cringe.
