I Love You to the Moon and Back
As the day begins, Mother Bear and her cub enjoy their time together. They play in the water as they have their morning bath time. Mother Bear makes Cub tall by putting Cub up on her shoulders and carrying Cub to the top of the mountaintop, but Cub needs to hold on really tight. They study the sky and think about all the ways they can show love for each other — when they are touching noses, playing chasing games, or visiting with their friends. They snuggle with each other at the end of the day, and Mother Bear declares her love for her little cub.
Amelia Hepworth has written a very sweet little story that will help the youngest listeners to settle down at the end of the day for bedtime. The text is written in perfect metrical rhyme. The real star here, though, is the gorgeous illustrations by Tim Warnes. Every page is filled with charming characters and pretty backgrounds in soft colors. Those cute bears and other woodland creatures will keep young listeners engaged. This is a sweet little book, but there is nothing new or fresh here.
