When I’m Dead: A Black Harbor Novel (Black Harbor Novels, 3)

When I’m Dead is the next book in Hannah Morrissey’s Black Harbor series. Black Harbor is a town where many of the people want to get out because of the dark cloud that seems to hover over it but many people do not. Medical Examiner Rowan and her Detective husband Axel get called away from their daughter Chloe’s school play in which she has the lead character role. They get called to the murder scene of Chloe’s best friend Madison and from there, things go downhill. Chloe goes missing and Rowan and Axel know one of two things—either their daughter was the one who killed Madison or she has been kidnapped.

The plot of the story is excellent and Morrissey does a fantastic job of keeping her audience guessing at who is behind the murder. Is it the boyfriend? Is it the best friend? Is it another classmate?

I would recommend When I’m Dead to anyone who has read Hannah Morrissey’s other books or is a fan of authors such as Harlan Coben or Chevy Stevens.
