Read to Death at the Lakeside Library (A Lakeside Library Mystery)
Rain Wilmot owns the Lakeside Library in Wisconsin and has recently started a book club. The first book up for discussion is an Agatha Christie murder mystery. Things take a dramatic turn when a book club member turns up dead that night in a similar manner as the plot of their book. Rain and her best friend Julia will use their sleuthing skills to find out what happened to Lily before someone else is Read to Death at the Lakeside Library.
This book is the third in the Lakeside Library mysteries. If you enjoyed the other ones or if you enjoy cozy mysteries, you will love this book. This was not my cup of tea, however. I tend to avoid anything with the word library in the title and pictures of food/drinks and pets on the cover. The characters lack depth, and everything works out just a little too perfectly. Also, it’s a bit weird that a grown adult white woman calls her brother “bro” and says, “true, dat.” Julia’s brother is a police officer who willingly lets them trample crime scenes and investigate independently. I didn’t like it, but I know cozy mystery fans will.
